EQAO testing is conducted across the province in the latter half of each school year. Students are tested on Reading, Writing and Mathematics in Grades 3 & 6. Student achievement in mathematics is assessed in Grade 9, and a Literacy test follows in Grade 10.

Assessment dates for the 2007/2008 school year follow:

Grade 3 and Grade 6 Assessments of Reading, Writing and Mathematics:
May 26–June 6, 2008

Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics:
January 10–25, 2008 (Winter)
June 5–20, 2008 (Spring)

The results are made available to school boards, parents and the public the following school year. Provincial initiatves based on needs identified through analysis of results from boards across Ontario provide the foundation for individual board action plans to continue to improve student achievement locally.
