Welcome from Director of Education Catherine McCullough
As the Director of Education for the Sudbury Catholic District School Board, I welcome you to the 2012-2013 school year and to our Board website. The web site features up to the minute information and resources for parents, students and staff.
We at the Sudbury Catholic District School Board appreciate the fact that our website is our most influential tool with respect to profiling our board, schools, students and staff and communicating with parents, guardians and the general public. It is often the first and therefore, the most important representation of our Board. It reflects not only our credibility, but our ability to encourage dialogue on education issues, increase awareness and appeal of our schools and programs and promote our USP (unique selling position) which is our distinctiveness in English Catholic Education in the City of Greater Sudbury.
It is with this in mind that I extend to each and every one of you my own personal warm welcome. To the first time registrants with our Board, I thank you and commend you for making the Sudbury Catholic District School Board the institution of choice with respect to your child’s education. I am confident that you will be extended every courtesy and will feel an immediate sense of belonging as you become a part of our family. I would also like to thank the students and parents who are returning. Your dedication and commitment to Catholic Education is a testament to your belief in our values and traditions.
The Sudbury Catholic School Board has so much to be proud of and I am honoured to be part of it. Building on our vision, creating hopes and dreams through excellence, the Sudbury Catholic Schools learning community continues to strengthen its longstanding tradition of Catholic Education in the City of Greater Sudbury through the unique partnerships that exists between our schools, parishes and parents/guardians.
We are making great strides in implementing our “Strategic Commitments” which can be viewed on this website. These Strategic Priorities we developed as a school board define and articulate very clearly where we want to move to and how we want to evolve over the next few years.
Education is a joint effort and I invite you to contact me if you have questions, suggestions, or concerns. Together we help every student create hopes and dreams through excellence.
