Sports
The Sudbury Catholic District School Board continues to encourage healthy active living in all schools, and combines physical activity with appropriate lifestyle choices.

Our students continue to be involved in both board wide and intramural run sporting events and tournaments. We offer a variety of physical activities including cross-country running, track and field, basketball, volleyball, handball and soccer both at the competitive and noncompetitive levels.

Obesity Prevention Action Plan
The Sudbury and District Health Unit along with the Sudbury Catholic District Schools Board are working towards implementing the overall steps necessary to ensure a better quality and variety of food available at both elementary and secondary schools.

This project addresses nutrition and physical activity with different initiatives based on the needs of the schools and available resources.

Active 2010
This program advocates increased opportunities for daily physical activity at both the school and community level. This initiative increases daily exercise levels and the health benefits that come with it. The program helps maintain flexibility, increase mobility and build strength and endurance.

Physical Fitness Challenge
This program encourages students to participate on a regular basis in physical activities that maintain and improve physical fitness levels. Students work towards improvement by participating in vigorous activities for approximately 20 minutes daily. This helps participants to recognize that the health of heart and lungs is improved by physical activity.
