Giftedness is formally defined as 'an usually advanced degree
of general intellectual ability that requires differentiated
learning experiences of a depth and breadth beyond those normally
provided in the regular school program to satisfy the level
of educational potential indicated'. Students are tested in
grade 4, and where applicable begin the formal identification
placement and review process described in the SCDSB Parent's
Guide to Special Education.
