Best Start is a movement in the province to provide daycares and before and after school programs in many of our schools.  It is a tri-level project between school boards, provincial government and the City of Sudbury.  Currently, Best Start Hubs are located at Pius XII, St. Francis and St. Charles Elementary School.  For more information contact laurie.zahra@sudburycatholicscshools.ca at Pius XII, lorrie.petryna@sudburycatholicschools.ca at St. Francis and sandra.stdennis@sudburycatholicscshools.ca for St. Charles Elementary School.

Implementation of the Pascal Report proposing education beginning at 4 years of age with a seamless delivery model involving ECE (Early Childhood Educators and teachers.  Implementation will begin in September 2010.

Hubs have been established in strategic position in the city to provide additional support for home daycare providers, parents and schools to access professional development, resources.  For example, parenting programs and toy lending libraries.

We have recently received funding for a new Daycare facility at Immaculate Conception School in Val Caron and final funding for completion of the Daycare at St. Bernadette has been received.
