Bishop Carter Catholic Secondary School Students to Canvass for the Heart and Stroke Campaign Wednesday, February 18, 2009

February 13, 2009 - Bishop Alexander Carter Catholic Secondary School students will be canvassing for the Heart and Stroke Foundation during the evening of February 18, 2009. As part of the Foundations Heart and Stroke Awareness Month, students have been actively engaged in recruiting other students to go out that evening in their neighbourhood to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Money raised will go toward funding research and other programs which are of vital importance to the health of the Sudbury community. Bishop Carter staff will be providing the students with pizza and hot chocolate to help keep them warm when they return to the school on what could prove to be a cold winter's night.

If students are unable to take part in the fundraising blitz on the night of February 18, they are still being encouraged to choose an evening in February that best suits them and to fundraise on that evening. Also half of the proceeds of the school’s dress down day in February will go to the Heart and Stroke foundation.
