ADDING TEXT TO A PAGE - 10 minutes
If you know how to use a word processor, then you shouldn't have any difficulty creating Web pages with Netscape Composer! During this part of the tutorial, you will actually open and edit the pages as you view them. Steps for you to follow will always be in red. Let's get started.

b) You will see this same page, which is now open in Composer. There should be a box directly below with a dashed outline. If there isn't, try again.
That was easy. You are now in Composer, which means that you can actually edit this page. We will begin to explore by typing some text and changing its attributes using the following illustrated menu items, which you can find on the menu at the top of this page.
Illustration
only
a) Place the cursor
in the space directly below this sentence and type your name (if you can't
then go back and read step 1)..
b) Now highlight your name above as you would in a word processor, and experiment with the various font attributes in the top menu (NOT THE ILLUSTRATION), including typeface, size, colour and style.
c) Now try the various Alignments in the menu above - 'Align Left', 'Center' and 'Align Right' (make sure that your text is highlighted first).
The text you are reading now is Arial 12. It is recommended that you use common fonts, such as Variable Width, Arial or Verdana, as fancier fonts require the person viewing your page to have the same fonts installed on their computer.
It's easy to create
bullets and numbered lists.
Locate
this in the top menu bar
a) Highlight the
list below and then click on the 'Bullet List'
icon in the top menu.
Toothbrush
Razor
Shaving foam
Shampoo
Travel alarm clock
b) Click the 'Bullet List' icon again (make sure that the list is highlighted) and you will notice that it toggles off.
c) With the bullet
list above highlighted, click on the 'Increase
Indent' and 'Decrease
Indent' icons to move it horizontally.
